Canon 2000D Review
Are you planning on taking your beginner photography game to the next level? You are definitely in the best place. Before I initiate, I want you to know there are two kinds of entry-level DSLR’s; basic and premium.
The Canon 2000d is the basic entry DSLR. Its key features include 24.1-megapixel APS-C sensor, Optical viewfinder, Full HD video recording, 3.0-inch screen, Wi-Fi/NFC connectivity and 500-shot battery life. All this makes it worth buying when it comes down to understanding the fundamentals of DSLR’s.
Evidently, there are not as many bells and whistles as compared to Canon’s premium or advanced models, but this camera almost completely delivers what a DSLR should provide (minding the low price).
DESIGN
EOS 2000 body is light-weight and compact. The handgrip is rubberish, which makes it easy to hold the overall plastic-touch body.
LCD; non-articulated, can be found on the rear side of the camera, followed by some main operations-layout at the right.
There is a built-in flash on the top with its pop-up button, to the right of Canon’s proven to be good input dial, shutter release button, and the on/off button.
The view-finder display can come handy with the information it provides at the bottom of its sharp screen.
PERFORMANCE
Canon provides you with a wide variety of shooting modes (Scene intelligent, Portraits, Landscapes, moving objects etcetera) and a choice of creative filters (B/W, miniature, fish-eye etcetera). These provide novices with an experience of with-in camera editing.
The metering system is based upon 63-zone dual-layer sensor, that can be found in Canon’s previous models as well. Canon uses DIGIC 4+, that is not as much of a good choice because it limits the sensitivity range of ISO (100–6400); expandable to 12800.
The AF system consists of nine AF-points in a diamond array; adequate but a much basic set-up. This makes the camera, firstly, to struggle while focusing on moving objects, and secondly, urges you to re-focus and compose off-centre objects repeatedly.
Wi-Fi facility provides you with connecting your camera to smartphones/tablets or even printing them as you want, wirelessly.
FINAL VERDICT
By now, you must be thinking if you should invest your money here or not. Honestly, Canon 2000d is a good competent; gives off almost all the basic requirements you would need to get yourself started as a learner.
Various shooting modes, an average processor, a good ISO system, a responsive AF system and the wireless connectivity facility — all of this for a reasonable price is not as bad, except for the fact that there is plenty of other budget DSLR and mirrorless models in the market.
I would say that it is a safe choice, yet turns out to be outdated in some areas.
